Finally in the Field!

I finally left the CTM (aka prison) and arrived in the mission field! President Lago and his wife are cool! They met us at the airport and then we went to the mission home for a while and then to a church to get our companions.

They did it kind of like a game show, where our photos flashed across a big screen with our names and we would “come on down” and greet/hug our companion. My companion is Elder Bustamante and he is from Peru!

We had a good chat about my brother, Will, serving his mission in Peru and about our trip there to visit Machu Picchu and his mission; or at least I tried telling him all of that the best I could because we only speak in Portuguese (and sometimes in my rusty Spanish) – he doesn’t speak English! My first area is in Teresina and is called “Buenos Aires”.

We have a big area and we walk everywhere. The church is about a 40 minute walk from our place, so that’s thrilling!
