I guess it was Brazil's Labor Day (or some weird holiday) on Pday because everything was closed. So we couldn't get any money or any food, although I was able to get a haircut.
The 31st was Halloween back home and the Dia dos Mortos here! A lot of people gathered in the cemetery for a religious ceremony of sorts and then burned a cross. They didn't spend all day in the graveyard or put out a lot tributes for the dead.
We had zone conference this week. The meetings were great and I learned quite a bit. Afterwards we went to the store and I bought tereré. It is kind of like a tea. They put water in a horn type glass and use a filter-like straw to drink it. When I put water in mine, it cracked. I guess that happens sometimes.
No one showed up for church on Sunday. Dang it! But I did get a sunburn and a bloody nose while teaching a lesson to Fabia, so that was something!
